Travel and Accommodation

As a responsible host, Toast Martinborough strongly recommends you use public transport or a designated driver to keep everyone safe.

Trains
  • As principal sponsor, Tranz Metro provides extra trains for Toast Martinborough. (These carriages are pre-sold to Friends of Martinborough.)
  • The normal public service to the Wairarapa also runs. Please note that public seating is very limited. Pre-purchased tickets are not available for Toast Martinborough day. Contact Tranz Metro for more information regarding the public service
  • Arriving at Wellington station assuming you can catch a train is not recommended.

  • Several companies provide bus transportation and individuals or groups can book tickets directly:

    Buses will collect participants from Masterton, Carterton, Gladstone, Greytown and Featherston and return after the festival. Seats must be pre-booked for these services and close when fully booked.

From the Manawatu

Please note that private charter buses may not park at vineyard gates and pick ups from outside Palliser Estate at the end of the day are not permitted due to traffic congestion.

 
Car
  • There is no car parking at festival sites or near The Square
  • Designated drivers do not receive free or discounted entry to festival sites
  • Please note that Toast Martinborough is a responsible host and recommends every car has a designated driver

Accommodation

Early booking is essential, as accommodation is very heavily booked for the festival, often a year ahead. Please contact the Martinborough Visitor Centre, phone (06) 306 5010 or Martinborough@wairarapanz.com for accommodation bookings for the whole Wairarapa region, or visit their website here.
