Travel & Accommodation

As a responsible host, Toast Martinborough strongly recommends you use public transport or a designated driver to keep everyone safe.

Free shuttles buses circulate around the festival circuit throughout the day, and many vineyards are so close that you can walk between them, eliminating the need for you to have your own vehicle.  There are also a number of public transport options to get to you and from the festival.

  • Toast Martinborough charters trains for Friends of Martinborough members.  Click here for membership details. See below for information on the public train service.
  • The normal public service to the Wairarapa also runs on festival day, departing Wellington Railway Station at 9.55am, and takes just over 1 hour. Please note that public seating is very limited. Pre-purchased tickets are not available for this public train on Toast Martinborough day. A Toast Martinborough shuttle service meets all trains, and takes you directly to the festival in Martinborough. The shuttle service is included in the price of your festival ticket. For more information regarding the public service contact Tranz Metro or click here.
  • Arriving at Wellington station assuming you can catch a train is not recommended.

Please contact the Toast Martinborough office for information about available landing sites for helicopters.

Early booking is essential, as accommodation is very heavily booked for the festival, often a year ahead.

Please contact:
